Working Groups
The Coalition currently has three working groups composed of representatives from key groups and organizations across the region working together to achieve common goals. Each working group was created based on an identified need expressed by the Coalition network. The working groups are dynamic as their membership, meeting frequency, and goals shift over time in response to local needs. However, their primary purpose remains the same: to share information and resources between service providers and across different agencies and organizations in order to promote better health outcomes.
Child and Youth Working Group
The Child and Youth Working group meets several times per year to share information, identify child and youth priorities, and develop strategies to increase coordination and enhance services for children and youth in the region.
Early Years Working Group
The Early Years Working Group meets a few times a year to share ideas and resources for healthy early childhood development. The group also identifies early childhood professional development needs for at least one local training per year.
Harm Reduction Working Group
Formed as a response to the provincial opioid overdose crisis, the Harm Reduction Working Group meets several times per year to share information about regional harm reduction priorities and mobilize resources and collective action on said priorities.
